The One Big Beautiful Bill Delivers the Course Correction Americans Mandated
The bill heads to President Trump’s desk just in time for Independence Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Addison McDowell (NC-06) voted this afternoon to pass H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill, a landmark package that reverses course on the mistakes of the Biden era and delivers on President Donald J. Trump’s America First agenda.
Following passage, Congressman McDowell called this bill a “turning point” for the country and released the following statement:
“Four years under the Biden administration left America desperately in need of a course correction. The One Big Beautiful Bill is the solution mandated by the American people, and it will soon be the law of the land.
This bill cuts taxes for working families to jumpstart our economy, and it gives Border Patrol the tools they need to stop the flow of migrants and fentanyl into our communities.
The bill also unleashes American energy, rebuilds our military, strengthens our Coast Guard, modernizes our air traffic control system, and ends the abuse of our social safety net.
My constituents in the Sixth District sent me here to restore common sense and put America first. Today I proudly voted to do just that.”
The One Big Beautiful Bill is now heading to President Trump’s desk just in time for the Fourth of July—Independence Day.
