Thursday, November 13, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Addison McDowell (NC-06) announced that $3 million will be invested in the construction of Davidson-Davie Community College’s new Health Sciences Center. Through H.R. 5371, which the House sent to President Trump’s desk last night for his signature, Congressman McDowell was able to secure this funding to assist in the construction of a health sciences center to host programs including EMS, nursing, nurse aide, surgical technology, central sterile processing, and medical assistant training.

“I’m proud to secure the funds for this investment in our community. This new Health Sciences Center at Davidson-Davie Community College will help train healthcare professionals badly needed in our region. This funding will have a direct impact on strengthening our local hospitals and increasing access to quality healthcare for folks in our area.” - Congressman Addison McDowell
